Harvard Hockey
Casey's gym teacher passed along some comp tickets for a Harvard University ice hockey game. The seats were right behind the visiting team's bench. It was like sitting on top of them. In fact, we were so close, we could smell them!
At the game we ran into a teammate of Casey's who then came and sat with us. Casey and Jordan had a great time sitting so close.
Harvard won: 4-1 against Quinnipiac. Yea!

BC Hockey Game
Friday night we went to a Boston College hockey game. BC Eagles v. the Providence Friars. Tickets courtesy Julie and family. Thanks Julie!
The BC campus is only about 3.5 miles from our house -- as the crow flies. But, of course, our van doesn't fly. In the rain at the tail end of rush hour, it took 30+ minutes to get to the campus. Then of course, we had to park and get into the area. Got to our seats just in time for the player introductions before first face-off. College hockey is a pretty rough sport, but it was a fun, fast-paced game. I think I counted only three broken sticks, and the players are so fast and smooth, I never even noticed the (constant) shift changes.
Providence scored the first two goals. BC scored two goals in the second period. But with 5 minutes left in the third period, Providence scored a third goal. So BC lost their first game after a 7-game winning streak, and Providence won for the first time on BC ice in four years -- or something like that.
Oh, and in the seats right behind us was a Mite hockey teammate of Casey's and his family. Small world.
