They planned the menu then did some of the shopping and all of the cooking. Here you see Mathias zesting limes for the salsa.

Beau made meatballs

and chocolate chip snickerdoodles.

The first course was a tropical smoothy in a colored-sugar rimmed glass.

The appetizer was chips with Mathias's specially doctored salsa.

Next was soup and salad. Beau and Mathias thought that since they were the kitchen staff, they should eat in the kitchen.

The entree was spaghetti and meatballs.

We persuaded the cooks to join us at the table.

Lastly, the piece de resistance: chocolate chip snickerdoodle ice cream sandwiches with chocolate sauce.

It was yummy, and we all had plenty to eat that night.
